Illinois man jailed on child sex charges

ROCKFORD, Ill. — A 26-year-old Illinois man was jailed last week, accused of  sex offenses involving a minor.

Police in Rockford say that on Monday, April 19, officers were called to investigate a report that a local man was planning to have sex with an underage person he met online.

The Rockford Police Sensitive Crimes Unit conducted a follow-up investigation and identified Travis Blomgren as a suspect. Charges against Blomgren were later authorized, and he was arrested May 7.

Blomgren is charged with traveling to meet a minor, indecent solicitation of a child, grooming, and distribution of harmful material.
